The Lee Alan Story.

A BLOCKBUSTER
FROM A MOTOWN ORIGINAL
How It all Happened

The Legend of a Detroit Radio Station
that captured the ears and hearts of the entire Midwest. And Lee Alan
who achieved consistent rating shares in excess of 50 percent.
All from Detroit, home of the Motown music explosion.
And in the 60s and 70s a hotbed of rhythm and blues
that was the epicenter of it all.

The factory town where Berry Gordy Jr. a high school dropout and ex boxer
first went bankrupt and then borrowed enough money to create the largest
independent music company in the world.
Where Diana Ross grew up in the slums, became a secretary, and then a
star.

Little Stevie Wonder, though blind became a superstar at age 11
Where the Temptations lived out their drama,
And where Jackie Wilson suffered and died because of his trauma.
Where Marvin Gaye was too shy to appear live on stage.

None of that would have happened if
Detroit radio stations hadn’t played the music they made.
Lee Alan was part of it, saw it, heard it, and lived it.
He knew them all.  And they’re all here.
The original giants of Radio in Detroit who were brave enough
to risk their very jobs playing Motown music before Motown music was
cool.
