| A Note From Lee Alan TURN YOUR RADIO ON – LIVE FROM MOTOWN THE AUDIO BOOK - NOW AVAILABLE After many late nights and early mornings I finally read my own book…out loud, and recorded it for you. It took eleven CDs, but it’s done. Whew! I was able to do something in the audio book that was obviously not possible in the printed version. Many of those fabulous voices, radio personalities, the stations, CKLW - WXYZ - KEENER - WJR - WKMH - WCAR -WHFI and others and their sounds are all included. If you’re from Motown you know them. If you’re not, you’ll meet them, hear them. Dick Clark, Mickey Shorr, Fred Wolf, Paul Winter, Joel Sebastian, Paul Winter, Bob Green, Pat Murphy, Dave Shafer Robin Seymour, Dick Osgood, The Lone Ranger, Marc Avery, Smiling-Fearless Barney Stutesman, the pilot of Detroit’s first Traffic Copter with yours truly flying along side him. You’ll meet Tom Clay, Joey Reynolds now on WOR in New York, the first Beatles interview, Stevie Wonder at age 15, Chuck Berry and dozens more. It’s the story of a legendary radio station steeped in creative history in the midst of the Motown Music explosion that rocked the world. I was there in the middle of it all. Writing the book was one thing; Reading it out loud was another. At times it seemed it was all happening again Very emotional. So much so that more than once I had to stop a sentence compose myself and start over. Those voices, most of them now gone were my friends and competitors. Now you can hear it all and what happened behind the scenes to all of us. There won’t be thousands of the audio book produced so I hope you’ll order it while it’s available. Most of all I hope you enjoy re-living those times with me. Happy Memories Lee Alan |
