WHY AREN’T YOU GETTING MORE TRAFFIC?

The first part of my career was with ABC Radio and Television
on the air trying to get people to listen,
watch, and remember what I had to say.  

Then  I decided  to get off the air
and go into the advertising business.  

The Retail & Auto Dealership Advertising business.  
Guess what?  Nothing changed.  
I was still doing the same thing.  
Getting the prospect’s attention,
giving them the message,
and making them remember it.

Now there’s a subject!  Nothing to it, right?
Buy an ad in the newspaper  
Have a cable company put together a TV spot.  
Maybe get a little radio schedule.  
Have a tent sale.  Now comes the big question.

WHY ISN’T IT WORKING?
I’ve been in a thousand or more auto dealerships
and retail operations.  Spoken to “20 Groups”
and retail association in 38 different states and 4 foreign countries.

I have given seminars and speeches before 12 State Associations and
NADA’s annual national convention.  
All on the subject of Retail Advertising.

I love the retail business.  
But when it comes to advertising many of them,
although sincerely trying, are just throwing money at the media.  
That’s good for the media, and bad for the rest.  

It’s not the media’s fault.  
They're the ones that deliver your message.  
The fault lies with the message; not the messenger.

Over the years I have developed some of the most attention getting and
memorable advertising messages ever.  Read the words that follow.  
Then please email me.  I want to get you on the road to becoming the best
known and most remembered business in your category.  
When that happens your floor traffic will soar
and the cost to do it will decrease 25% or more.

Consider this.  No matter how long you've been in business:

Survey after survey reports that of the people who live
within a five-mile radius of your location a majority are oblivious.  
And that percentage is consistent
even within a few blocks of your front door.  
With great indignation you say, how could that be?  
Why, we’ve been on this same spot for years!  
Impossible!  Everyone knows us.  Wrong!!  

The fact that you exist
doesn’t mean that anyone is necessarily paying attention.  
Next time you listen to your favorite radio station,
ask yourself this question.  
Why are they constantly repeating their call letters
(WXXX) and dial position (100.5)?   
They do it with clever phrases, singing jingles, strange sounds, etc.  
And they do it often.  Listen to the station for just fifteen minutes.  
How many times is the station identified?  
Isn’t this overkill?  
No. .uh uh!

What about television?  Ever notice how often the TV station
assaults your brain with the channel number?  
Channel 7 Action News.  Channel 2 Weather.  

And what about cable?  
Why do they place that little CNN down there
at the bottom of the screen?  
And the rest of them:  A&E, Lifetime, HGTV, etc.  
Why all this identification anyway.  
After all everybody knows the Radio or TV station.  
Right?  Wrong again!
